It’s probably the creepiest time of the year in the city that never sleeps. Halloween in New York has a unique vibe, and Loving New York has decided to participate in the city’s popular Village Halloween Parade.
Every year on October 31st, there is a huge parade of over 50,000 zombies, ghosts and other scary creatures. Anyone can participate in the New York Parade, all you need is a costume!
When is New York’s Village Halloween Parade?
The Village Halloween Parade is held. October 31, 7:00 – 10:30 PM. To participate in the parade (again, in costume only!), meet all your fellow participants a little early at 6:30 PM at 6th Ave at Canal St. If your costume is creative enough, you might even win a costume contest! Prizes include tickets to great New York shows.
Is the NYC Halloween Parade free?
The Village Halloween Parade is completely free. You can just show up and watch the parade, or you can dress up and march with the locals.
How to Participate in New York’s Halloween Parade
The NYC Halloween Parade is not only free but also open to participation. If you want to participate in the parade, get creative and wear a cool costume. You cannot march without a costume. If you’re wondering what type of costume to wear, visit one of your local Halloween stores for inspiration.
The meeting point for the NYC Halloween Parade is Sixth Ave at CANAL Street. You must arrive between 6:30 and 9:00 PM. Otherwise you might miss the parade.
Where does the Halloween parade start?
New York’s Village Halloween Parade begins at the corner of Sixth Avenue and Spring Street and continues to 16th Street in Manhattan. This is also the largest Halloween parade in the country. New York City’s Village Halloween Parade takes over Lower Manhattan every year.
Where to See the NYC Village Halloween Parade
Below you can see a map showing the entire parade route. If you only want to see the parade as a spectator, we recommend finding a spot in the Village along 6th Avenue and 14th Street ( Take the train to ’14th Street’). Take it. or If you want to join the Halloween parade, take the train to ‘Canal St’ station!
I think the best place to see the Village Halloween Parade is in the heart of the Village. We always tend to choose locations around W 4th Street. However, if crowds are an issue, choose a location near the end of the parade.
