Times Square finally has its own observatory! At a total cost of $500 million, One Times Square, previously used only as a large advertising screen, was converted into a new visitor center.
The highlight is definitely the observation deck, which offers a 360° view of the bustle below. The official opening of the observatory is scheduled for early 2026. With limited tickets, the soft opening has already occurred in December 2025.

What is One Time Square Observatory?
One Times Square Observation Deck is part of the newly planned One Times Square expansion and development. Considering that this building has been closed to the public for decades, this is great news for us as New York lovers!
Along with other iconic observation decks in New York such as Top of the Rock, Edge Hudson Yards, One Vanderbilt, and the Empire State Building, One Times Square Viewing Deck is the first of its kind to bring visitors directly above the action in Times Square.
Although not as high as the Empire State Building’s deck (which offers incredible views from the 103rd and 86th floor observation decks), One Times Square offers the sort of view from this 26-story building that still gives you a glimpse into the action and life of Times Square below.
