When my husband and I decided to spend a month in Mallorca, finding the best coffee in Palma was a non-negotiable. Our plan was to spend the working day cozying up in a cozy cafe and thankfully Palma delivered.
I wanted to compile some of my personal favorite cafes in Palma for those planning a trip to the island.

Best coffee in Palma de Mallorca
Surry Hills
Of all the great cafes in Mallorca, none impressed me more than Surrey Hills in Palma’s old town. Opening in 2021, Surry Hills is the new Australian café in Palma that wants to make an impression.
The minimalistic interior is well designed and has a warm feel, and the friendly staff were some of the friendliest we’ve encountered during our month on the island. They serve one of the best brunches in Palma, with a focus on fresh seasonal produce and knockout coffee.
We ordered eggs benedict and salmon toast along with cappuccino and americano. At first bite, my husband and I looked at each other and said “Wow” in unison. The food exceeded expectations and the coffee was delivered too. Give them the love and attention they deserve. This is definitely one of the best cafes in Palma!

Launched in 2014, La Molienda is often credited with introducing specialty coffee to Palma. This charming Palma cafe is located in a quiet part of the old town, but people are willing to make the trek to enjoy its quality coffee and delicious breakfast menu.
They focus on Spanish coffee roasters and change their brewers frequently. The quality speaks for itself and since opening in 2014, the café has expanded to three busy locations. We ordered the classic tomato toast and scrambled egg sandwiches and both dishes were good enough to keep us coming back.
I prefer the location in Bise but it can be difficult to get a table. If you want to sit inside, get there early.

Arabay Coffee was my favorite cafe in Palma. Because this place was just a few steps from my house. It was such a pleasure to start my morning with the professional staff, and their organic and fair trade coffee was always on point.
We were surprised to learn that Arabay has been roasting coffee on the island since 1952. But it wasn’t until 2016 that they opened a cafe in Palma. They also serve light food like sandwiches and bread.
In my experience, this is the best cafe in Palma for digital nomads. The sunny upstairs space is filled with tables and chairs perfect for those looking to get some work done. We found the same people glued to their laptops every time we visited.
Mistral Coffee Roasters
Launched in 2017, Mistral is renowned for serving the best coffee in Palma. One sip and you’ll understand why locals and visitors alike love this place so much.
High-quality specialty coffee is ethically sourced and freshly roasted in Mallorca. The passion behind Palma’s attention to detail shines through in every glass. There are two coffee shops in Palma, I like the sunny one a 2 minute walk from Passeig de Born.

Mama Carmens
Mama Carmen’s might be the cutest cafe in Palma. Thankfully, they serve some of the best coffee in Palma too. Located in Santa Catalina, Mama Carmens specializes in vegetarian and vegan cuisine.
Long lines are expected at the store, and a second store has opened a block away from the flagship store, both of which are packed with visitors during the morning hours.
Rose Velvet Bakery
While wandering aimlessly through the charming streets of Palma, we came across Rose Velvet Bakery. Intrigued by the happy faces coming in and out, we decided to stop by and visit. We were taken to the beautiful patio in the back and eagerly awaited our coffee and afternoon snack (cheesecake).
As we took a sip, we realized that we had stumbled upon some of Palma’s best cafes. A theory that was confirmed a few minutes later when a delicious cheesecake was landed in front of us. Rosevelvet may be part cafe and part bakery, but it’s completely exceptional at both.

Cafe Liutort
Specialty coffee isn’t hard to find in Palma, but not all cafes are created equal. This is where Café Riutort comes in. We serve excellent coffee in a comfortable atmosphere.
This unfussy Palma café is always inviting and people are encouraged to stick around rather than rushing out with a takeaway cup. If you need a quiet place to plan your day in Palma, it’s hard to beat Café Riutort.

Of course, El Perrito is better known as a brunch spot, but serving the best coffee in Palma usually goes with the locale! We loved the coffee and food at El Perrito so much that we returned three times during our stay in Mallorca.

Rapha
Mallorca is world-famous for cycling, so some cafes in Palma are geared towards two passions: cycling and coffee.
Rapha Coffee is a perfect example of this. Part shop, part café, this place is almost always full of cyclists. But you don’t have to be a biker to enjoy great coffee brewed in his quaint café.

Ca’n Joan de s’Aigo
Like most people who visit Mallorca, I went to Ca’n Joan de s’Aigo for ensaimada and ice cream. Coffee was an afterthought, but I need a pick-me-up in the afternoon. Little did I know that Ca’n Joan de s’Aigo serves the best coffee in Palma.
It was perfectly strong, smooth and really fit the spot. After my visit I could confirm that this cafe is not only one of the best cafes in Palma, but also one of the best bakeries in Mallorca.
