The waves crash a few feet from my chair. Blow into your palms. Soft white sand crunches beneath your feet as you make your way to the water.
Caribbean beaches stay with you long after your trip is over. Sometimes it’s just a small town on St Croix. Aruba sometimes has large expanses of sand. Sometimes the only footprints on a deserted beach in a remote corner of the Bahamas are yours.
Right now, many of us are dreaming more about the Caribbean than about traveling there. That’s what these beaches do. They pull you back. They remind us what a real vacation feels like.

Here are some dreamy Caribbean beaches for your weekend wanderlust.

Jolly Hole Beach, Exuma
The water in Jolly Hall doesn’t look real. It begins as a thin ribbon of transparent blue on the coastline and deepens into electric turquoise further across Elizabeth Harbour.
Just outside George Town in Exuma, this beach is surprisingly quiet, with soft white sand and shallow water that barely ripples on calm days. You can walk long distances while listening to several boats anchored in the distance and the sound of the tide lapping at the beach.
Locals come here for a quick swim at sunset. Visitors stay all afternoon under sea vines on the edge of the sand. Jolly Hall remains a secret. That’s why people like it.
