Black Friday and the 2024 holiday shopping season are just around the corner. Retailers and delivery companies are preparing for the peak shopping season by hiring seasonal workers and providing thousands of jobs.

If you’re looking to put in a little extra work this holiday season, these companies are some of the largest seasonal employers in the country and are trying to attract part-time and full-time workers with competitive wages and benefits.

These seasonal jobs are definitely worth checking out, and there will be more with the upcoming holiday season fast approaching!


Here are 17 companies hiring seasonal and vacation employees in 2024:


1. 1-800-Flowers plans to hire approximately 8,000 seasonal and year-round employees.

1-800-Flowers announced plans to once again hire about 8,000 seasonal and year-round employees, according to Reuters. Many positions are available in Illinois, Ohio, and Oregon, with some telecommuting positions available. To learn more, visit 1800Flowers.com.


2. Transportation and logistics provider Geodis plans to hire 3,700 seasonal employees.

Geodis is ready to handle your holiday volume! The company plans to hire 3,700 seasonal employees across the U.S. and Canada. Many warehouses will be opened for job seekers. 3. Macy’s plans to hire thousands of seasonal workers in 2024.

Do you like perks like weekly paychecks, early paychecks, store discounts, and the opportunity for full-time employment after the season? Macy’s could be your employer!

The company, along with Bloomingdale’s and Bluemercury, plans to hire about 31,500 seasonal employees. Many of these jobs are located in NJ and NY and pay between $16 – $28 per hour.


4. The goal is to hire 100,000 seasonal employees.

Target was named one of the Best Companies to Work For by Forbes Magazine, and the company announced plans to hire 100,000 seasonal employees. Some roles include warehouse operations specialists, fulfillment and general merchandising specialists, store associates, food and beverage specialists, and more. Target’s minimum starting wage is $15 – $24 per hour, and seasonal employees receive perks like flexible schedules and in-store discounts.

5. UPS employs 125,000 furloughed workers.

UPS is gearing up for the holiday rush with 125,000 employees! Part-time and full-time positions are available for many package handlers or delivery drivers. Even better, 75% of these jobs don’t even require an interview, and part-time workers make at least $21 per hour!

7. Bath & Body Works offers a 40% discount to its employees.

Do you like the scent of Bath & Body Works perfume? Then this seasonal job might be right for you! The company announced it is hiring 30,000 seasonal employees across 1,800 stores and 2,700 distribution centers. The stores are looking for part-time sales associates and the distribution centers are hiring for several full-time positions. Seasonal employees receive benefits such as a 40% discount on store products, Daily Pay, and flexible work hours!

8. Dick’s Sporting Goods employs up to 8,000 people.

The popular sporting goods store is looking to hire seasonal employees, and the company was recently ranked the 14th best place to work in large retail by FORTUNE magazine.

JCPenney just announced plans to hire about 10,000 furloughed employees. The company will be holding a recruitment event through stores and online from October 16th to October 18th.
