Google made a deal on consumer hardware in August. On Tuesday, the company announced a long-awaited new Nest Thermostat and a Google TV Streamer that replaces the 11-year-old Chromecast line. The following Tuesday, at Made by Google 2024, the software giant refreshes its Pixel line with several new smartphones.
For the past several years, Made by Google events have been held on the East Coast in October. This year’s event will be held at the company’s Mountain View headquarters, August 13th at 10am PT/1pm ET.

Along with announcing new home devices and Google Assistant upgrades, the company teased two new mobile devices, the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Fold, and with the tagline “The (foldable) phone built for the Gemini era,” it eliminated any doubts that the generative AI platform would be at the center of the device.
We’ll likely see a lot more of Android 15 at the event. The mobile operating system will debut on the Pixel 9 line, along with its own upgraded processor. There are also rumors that the latest versions of the Pixel Watch and Pixel Buds Pro will be released.
