Wales began their bid for a third BetVictor World Cup of Darts title with a 4-1 win over Lithuania on the opening night of the tournament.
Jonny Clayton, partnering Nick Kenny in Gerywn Price’s absence, put in a comprehensive show to take the lead in Group C.
The 2026 World Cup will be held in Frankfurt from June 11 to 14, and all matches will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
The top four countries – England, the Netherlands, reigning champions Northern Ireland and Scotland – will be seeded and advance to the last 16.
England’s Luke Littler and Luke Humphries headline the seeded team chasing glory, with Michael van Gerwen joining Netherlands’ Gian van Veen.
Northern Ireland’s Josh Rock and Daryl Gurney are aiming for back-to-back titles, while Gary Anderson partners Scotland debutant Cameron Menzies.
The remaining 36 teams are divided into 12 round-robin groups of three, with the winner of each group advancing.
Teams that lost Thursday’s game return on Friday afternoon and then play the decisive group match on Friday evening. A round of 16 tie will follow that night, with the knockout phase starting on Saturday, with the final set for Sunday 14 June.
