It’s always smoothie season here in AK. There’s nothing better than a cold, refreshing smoothie on a hot summer day (or any day, really). That’s why I’ve collected more than 30 of them. healthy smoothie recipes Creating and falling in love.

I’ve included delicious blends of green smoothies, smoothies with and without bananas (per reader request!), high-protein smoothies that are perfect after a workout, and just about every flavor in between. The AK team puts a twist on these healthy smoothies almost every week and tops them with some of our favorite smoothies like chia seeds, coconut flakes, and homemade granola. They really make the best breakfasts and snacks!

How to prepare smoothies in advance

Our Favorite Smoothie Ingredients

The flavor options are truly endless when it comes to creating the perfect smoothie. You’ll find everything from a classic strawberry banana smoothie to one that tastes like carrot cake. Here are some popular fruits and mix-ins to add to smoothies to not only add flavor and sweetness, but also boost nutrients like essential vitamins, minerals, fiber, protein, fatty acids, and more.

  • fruit: Banana, strawberry, blueberry, cherry, pineapple, mango, orange, peach, avocado.
  • vegetable: Spinach, kale, cauliflower, butternut squash, carrots, pumpkin.
  • protein: Greek yogurt, protein powder (I like Four Sigmatic and Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides), peanut butter (and all nut butters), nuts.
  • Nutritional Enhancers: Chia seeds, hemp seeds, oats, fresh ginger, turmeric, flaxseeds or flaxseed meal.
  • For blending: I prefer to use dairy-free milk (such as coconut milk or unsweetened almond milk) rather than fruit juice, but you can use any milk you like.
  • For toppings: I love adding seeds, fruit, nut butters, or homemade granola to my smoothies or smoothie bowls!

My smoothie recipes typically don’t use ice cubes for blending, but rather frozen fruit, so you’ll notice that the smoothie gets a creamy texture and stays cold without getting soggy.
