5 Best Hotels in Singapore (Updated 2026)

Singapore's Supertree Grove, Cloud Garden Conservatory and Marina Bay Sands Hotel reflect on the water with glowing lights at dusk.

Singapore is one of my favorite cities in the world. It has an iconic skyline of futuristic skyscrapers and lush green spaces and is one of the region’s premier gastronomic hubs. The markets here are full of cheap hawker stalls, including one serving some of the cheapest Michelin-starred meals in the world.

But Singapore is expensive. It’s easy to waste your budget here. You can eat cheaply, but the accommodations can accommodate any budget.

Over the years, I have stayed in numerous hotels in Singapore. So today I would like to share a list of the best hotels in Singapore.

1. Scarlet

This award-winning 4-star hotel is located in Chinatown, my favorite area of the city. Spread across restored 19th-century shophouses and 1920s art deco buildings (you can’t miss the distinctive red façade). The interior is bright and bold, with rich colors and luxurious furniture. The hotel also boasts a rooftop restaurant and bar, an outdoor hot tub, a gym and a French patisserie where guests can enjoy fresh pastries in the morning.

Stylish rooms are uniquely designed with avant-garde décor including sumptuous velvet chaise longues and unique headboards. The bathrooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and you can even choose a pillow from a custom pillow menu. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV, work desk, free minibar, plush bathrobes and tea/coffee making facilities. If you want a more mid-range option in Chinatown, stay here.

2. KINN Capsule Hotel

Capsule hotels are something you have to experience at least once in Asia. Think of it like a high-rise hostel. KINN is one of a few capsule hotels in the Quays area. The hotel is minimalistic in design, everything is very clean and there is a simple complimentary breakfast (sandwich and fruit) in the morning. There is also a pantry with free snacks, coffee and tea, a shared lounge, laundry facilities and a rooftop terrace with beautiful views. We especially like that guests can get free access to fitness classes at a nearby gym, as well as discounts at a co-working space a few blocks away.

Capsules are equipped with air conditioning, comfortable bedding, folding shelves and mirrors, integrated lighting, blackout privacy blinds and power outlets. Personal lockers are also provided to keep your belongings safe. The shared bathroom features a walk-in shower with good water pressure. Free toiletries are also provided. If you want a little more privacy than a capsule, you can choose a private room with a private bathroom. If you want to save money but don’t want to stay in a hostel, this is a great choice.

This luxurious five-star hotel has been featured in numerous international publications thanks to its focus on sustainability. They harvest rainwater, have solar panels for energy generation, and use green roofs to minimize heat absorption and grow produce. There are also beautiful gardens and lush living walls throughout. Free classes (yoga, meditation, zumba) are available at the scenic garden skywalk. There is also an outdoor swimming pool, gym and several restaurants. The breakfast buffet is not included, but it is fantastic with a huge variety. The hotel is also right next to the MRT station.

Spacious rooms feature a contemporary design with light wood paneling, a neutral color palette and large windows. All rooms feature a spacious work desk with an ergonomic chair, a flat-screen TV, a minibar, plush bathrobes and a nightstand with universal electrical outlets. The bathroom is also spacious and features a standing shower with excellent water pressure and a deep bathtub. There is also a separate tap for purified drinking water, which I think is really nice. Stay here for a unique and luxurious stay in the heart of Chinatown.

This 3-star hotel is located on East Coast Road, not far from Joo Chiat, a village area filled with street art, independent shops and cafes. Rooms are small and simple but feature a free minibar, a flat-screen TV and a desk. Bathrooms are a good size and feature bidets and walk-in showers or shower/tub combos. There are a variety of room types to choose from, some with balconies or skylights.

The hotel has a beautiful infinity pool and rooftop terrace with views, as well as its own restaurant and bar. There is no breakfast on site, but there are many places nearby. This is a great choice for a rustic stay in an off-the-beaten-path part of the city.

5. York Hotel

This 4-star hotel is located just off Orchard Road, famous for its numerous shops and shopping malls that line the street from end to end. York Hotel features a large outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center and a restaurant that serves a daily rich buffet breakfast (there is also an omelette station).

Both the room and bathroom are a bit old but quite spacious. This is rare in a city as small as Singapore. Rooms include minibars, coffee/tea makers, armchairs, desks, plush bathrobes and slippers. This hotel is nothing groundbreaking, but most hotels in the area are quite expensive. I think you get great value here. This is a great option for those who want to stay in a central location at a reasonable price.
