A wildfire that broke out in southern California overnight covered more than 2,000 acres, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire).

Aerial footage taken Monday shows a helicopter attempting to extinguish the blaze as cars continue to drive on a road that appears to be near the blaze in Riverside County.
