We don't eat out often, but when we do, we like Japanese food. Gluten-free dishes are relatively easy to find, and salads and fried rice are also excellent. There are even local restaurants that cook with coconut oil!
One of my favorite things to eat at our local Japanese restaurant is the ginger salad dressing (the ingredients might be questionable, but I didn't ask). Either way, heading to a restaurant every time you want to eat will hurt both your bank account and your health. So I experimented with nutritional products at home and I'm really happy with the end result.
Japanese restaurant-style Asian ginger vinaigrette
I love making my own salad dressing. I like to know what goes into it and make it fresh when I need it. You can make a delicious salad dressing with simple ingredients like extra virgin olive oil, apple cider vinegar, avocado oil, and balsamic vinegar.
This Asian ginger vinaigrette is flavored with ginger, garlic, coconut aminos, onion, and a touch of tomato paste. To make it smooth, run it in a blender or food processor and it's ready in 5 minutes! There is no need to use ground ginger as the ginger root is roughly chopped before going into the blender.
What to Serve with Ginger Vinaigrette
I keep a jar of pre-made ginger vinaigrette in the fridge to eat on a green salad with vegetables at lunchtime (or breakfast time…I’m a bit obsessed). It goes well with the Asian Color Burst Salad and PF Chang-style Lettuce Wrap. You can also sprinkle it on stir-fries, burgers, chicken or fish. Use it as a dipping sauce for meatball shish kebabs or drizzle over chicken pad thai noodles.
Store salad dressing in a glass jar with a lid in the refrigerator.

Place all ingredients in a blender or high-speed food processor and blend until smooth.
For best flavor, refrigerate for several hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld before serving.
