  • One middle Jalapenos, halved lengthwise and seeds removed
  • One cup water
  • 2/3 cup Passion fruit puree (No seeds // Frozen, thawed before use)
  • 1/4 cup Agave nectar*
  • 2 table spoon lime juice (1 lime yields ~2 Tbsp or 30 ml)
  • Preheat the oven to high heat. Place the oven rack on the top rack directly below the broiler element, leaving enough space for a baking sheet. Optional: Line a baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup. Place the cut jalapenos face down on a baking sheet and bake, watching carefully, until the outside of the jalapenos is blistered and blackened, 4 to 5 minutes. You want them to be ~50% black. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool.

  • In a blender, combine water, passion fruit puree, agave nectar, lime juice, and cooled jalapenos. Blend on high until smooth and no lumps of jalapeño remain. Taste and adjust as needed. Add more passion fruit or lime for a sour taste, or more agave for a sweet taste.
  • To enjoy, strain into a bottle or pitcher for later use, or strain directly into a serving glass over ice. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 days or in the freezer for up to 1 month. I think this would be delicious as a popsicle too!

*You can use honey or maple syrup instead of agave nectar, but the taste will change slightly. We love how the neutral flavor of agave makes the passion fruit and spices shine!
