As part of an initiative to help South Africa move closer to its goal of attracting 21 million visitors, the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) has teamed up with comedian Trevor Noah to promote South African tourism. The “Best of Us” campaign features South African-born comedians introducing the country through a series of packaged video ads.
“Trevor Noah is a true South African and having him as the voice of South Africa’s tourism sector will be a huge benefit to the sector. He is a global brand loved by people around the world and our partnership with TBCSA is a great opportunity for Trevor to We are confident that we will help position South Africa as a destination of choice for travelers from around the world,” said Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa, CEO of the Council.
There have been several rumors about the price tag of having a world-famous star promoting a destination. But Tshivhengwa set the record straight and told local radio station Cape Talk: “Everything that was announced about the amount paid to Trevor is false. This is far from the truth. Trevor was generous to us. He agreed to do this.
