Air New Zealand suspends Chicago service: Travel Weekly

Air New Zealand will suspend its Auckland-Chicago route from March 31 to October 25 due to ongoing issues with the availability of serviceable Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines, which are used on Air New Zealand’s Boeing 787 fleet.

According to Air New Zealand, customers booked in Chicago will be rebooked on connecting flights via other US airports to “get to their destination as quickly as possible”, while those booked directly with the airline will receive new itineraries within 72 hours. Customers booked through a travel agent should contact their travel agent to confirm any changes to their itinerary.

Customers may receive a full refund or credit for their reservation.
