Dora Announces Close of .5M Early-Stage Funding Round Co-led by Dragonfly and Lemniscap

New York, New York, July 9, 2024, Chainwire

Dora, the unified search and action engine for the multi-chain world, is excited to announce that it has successfully closed a $5.5 million seed round of funding. The round was co-led by Dragonfly Capital and Lemniscap, with participation from Robot Ventures, Ethereal Ventures, Maven11, Arche Capital, and notable angel investors including Rushi Manche, Co-founder of Movement Labs, and Dino Savonin, Co-founder of Fluent. The funds will be used to power Dora’s innovative search, integrated cross-chain trading capabilities, and expand its collaboration with blockchain networks across all virtual machines.

Dora is the only multi-chain search engine that allows search functionality and cross-chain transactions in a unified interface. As applications increasingly leverage online and on-chain infrastructure, unlocking search functionality is critical for understandability and accessibility. Dora’s comprehensive block explorer and search solution empowers users and developers by making on-chain data easily accessible, thereby accelerating the widespread adoption of blockchain technology.

Dora currently supports over 20 chains, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Celo, Scroll, Rari, Palm, and Xai.

The Dora platform provides a multi-chain block explorer for searching blockchain data on EVM chains, an API for accessing rich token and NFT information, an efficiently structured data structure for easy data retrieval provided by Goldsky and Simplehash, transactional functions such as swaps and mints, and a built-in wallet. These offerings serve as a comprehensive solution for chains looking to encourage developer adoption and promote ecosystem usage.

This funding follows Dora support from key industry partners, including Arbitrum’s largest ever subDAO grant and grants from the Ocelot treasury for Gnosis, Scroll, and Celo.

“The golden age of Web2 came with the golden age of search engines. To facilitate widespread adoption of on-chain products and services, we need a cryptographic search engine.” Bunny, Dora’s CEO and co-founder, said:. “This funding round demonstrates the strong confidence our investors have in our vision of a unified, non-fragmented multi-chain experience. By integrating interactions at the Discoverability Layer, we aim to drive mass adoption of blockchain technology and accelerate the evolution to a multi-chain, and soon multi-VM, world.”

Dragonfly partner Tom Schmidt said: “Dora’s mission to make on-chain data accessible and interactive aligns perfectly with our vision for the future of blockchain technology. Dora unlocks new potential in the blockchain space by providing a comprehensive search and explorer tool. We are confident that their innovative approach will significantly contribute to the mass adoption of decentralized technologies.”

Tarun Chitra, Partner at Robot Ventures, said: “Dora is at the forefront of making blockchain data more understandable and accessible to a wider audience. Their approach to unifying multiple chains into a seamless search experience is groundbreaking. We believe their technology will play a pivotal role in the widespread adoption of blockchain and decentralized applications. In a future where there are as many blockchains as there are GPUs, Dora will be the key to managing complexity for the end user.”

Roderik van der Graaf, founder of Lemniscap, said: “We are thrilled to co-lead this investment round in Dora as part of our ongoing efforts to foster groundbreaking technologies in the blockchain ecosystem. Dora’s unique approach to discovery and interaction within the multi-chain world positions them to be a key player in driving mass adoption, and we are excited to be part of their journey.”
