American Airlines has entered into a codeshare partnership with Philippine Airlines.
Under the agreement, American customers can book Philippine-operated flights from Tokyo to Manila and Cebu (a gateway city for beach vacations). American also codeshares Philippine-operated flights from Honolulu and Guam to Manila.
Conversely, the Philippines has a codeshare agreement on American Airlines flights from Los Angeles to Atlanta, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, Orlando and Washington, D.C.
Philippine Airlines flies twice daily from Manila to Los Angeles, daily from Guam, and about five times a week from Honolulu.
Although it does not participate in codeshare agreements, the airline operates daily flights to San Francisco and three to four times a week to JFK.
“The Philippines is one of the fastest growing economies in Asia, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen our partnership with Philippine Airlines,” said Anmol Bhargava, vice president of global alliances for American Airlines.
