Air India will be deploying new Airbus A350-900 aircraft on two US routes in the coming months.
The airline will operate the new aircraft daily on the New York-JFK-Delhi route starting November 1, and five times a week on the Newark-Delhi route starting January 2.
The A350 deployment introduces Air India’s Premium Economy Class to the New York and Newark routes. Featuring 24 seats in a 2-4-2 configuration, the cabin offers more legroom and a wider seat than Economy.
Air India’s A350 aircraft also features 28 Business Class suites with fully flat beds in a 1-2-1 configuration. Each suite has direct aisle access, a sliding privacy door and a personal wardrobe.

The 264 economy class seats are arranged in a 3-4-3 configuration.
All seats on the A350 are equipped with the latest generation Panasonic eX3 inflight entertainment system with HD screens providing entertainment content from around the world.
Once the A350s are in service, 60% of Air India flights to the US will feature new or upgraded cabin interiors.
The airline currently operates three-class Boeing 777-200LR aircraft on all direct flights between India (Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore) and San Francisco, with upgraded cabin interiors (except for the three times weekly Delhi-San Francisco route).
