Barack Obama Endorses Kamala Harris for President

The US vice president has already secured the support of a majority of Democratic delegates, making her a likely candidate for the party's nomination at its convention in August.

The Obamas said in a statement Friday that they “could not be more thrilled” to endorse Harris and pledged to do “everything we can” to get her elected.

“We agree with President Biden,” the couple said in a statement. “Choosing Kamala was one of the best decisions he has ever made. She has the resume to prove it.”

They cited her experience as California attorney general, U.S. senator, and vice president.

“But Kamala has more than a resume,” the statement continued. “She has the vision, character, and strength that this momentous moment demands.

“There is no doubt that Kamala Harris has what it takes to win this election and serve the American people.

“At a time when the stakes are higher than ever, she gives us all reason to hope.”

This statement was accompanied by a video., Out Mrs. Harris receives a call from the Obamas and their supporters.

“Oh my God,” the vice president says in the video. “Michelle, Barack, this means so much to me.”
