Defense Minister Yoav Galant said the investigation into the soldiers' actions must continue, adding that “even in times of anger, the law applies to everyone.”
According to local media reports, at least nine Israeli soldiers at the base are accused of abusing Palestinian detainees suspected of being Hamas fighters captured in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military said the prosecutor general had ordered an investigation following “serious allegations of abuse of prisoners.”

The BBC previously interviewed medical staff at a field hospital in Sde Teyman, who said detainees were blindfolded, shackled to beds and forced to wear nappies instead of using toilets.
Last month, Israel's Haaretz newspaper reported that a doctor at Sde Teiman had performed leg amputations on two prisoners due to handcuff injuries. The BBC has not independently verified this claim.
Detainees there have told journalists and UN officials that they were beaten and attacked. The Israel Defense Forces have denied systematic abuse.
Many Gazans detained by Israeli forces are released without charge after interrogation. Amnesty International this month called on Israel to end indefinite detention of Gazan Palestinians and “widespread torture” in prisons.
Some Israeli politicians have condemned the arrests of the reservists. The far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called their detentions “shameful.”
