
One year after the Maui wildfires ravaged Lahaina, the iconic banyan tree is showing signs of life thanks to the efforts of tree experts.
A 150-year-old banyan tree brought as a gift from India to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the arrival of the first Protestant missionaries in Lahaina was badly burned by ants in August 2023.
More than 100 people have died in fires in Lahaina.
