How many Grand Slam titles will Italian world number one Yannick Sinner, who won the US Open at Flushing Meadows on Sunday, have?
Sinner became the first Italian man to win a U.S. Open title. After beating Taylor Fritz in the final on Sunday.
The world number one finished off a fine tournament by defeating the American in straight sets against Arthur Ashe, adding the title to his haul in Australia.
In 2024, Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz clean up Slams. Sky Sports Tennis The question arose as to how many times the two teams would ultimately win the championship before retiring from the game.
Henman: I think Sinner and Alcaraz will win 10+ Grand Slams.
“When I was playing, Pete Sampras won his 14th Grand Slam, and you could have bet that no one would ever win more than 14 Grand Slams, but Federer, Nadal and Djokovic all won them much faster than him,” Tim Henman said.
“In the context of the game, McEnroe has seven wins, Connors has eight, Becker has six, and now we're saying they (Sinner, Alcaraz) are going to have double-digit wins.
“I think they'll both get over 10 points. That's an incredible achievement.”
Navratilova & Lopez: Sinner and Alcaraz reach double-digit Grand Slam wins
“I think double figures (should be Sinner's Grand Slam title target) and I would say the same for Alcaraz,” tennis great Martina Navratilova said..
“Of course, we'll see if they stay healthy. That's the wild card.”
Feliciano Lopez said: “I think both of them are in the double digits. I'd say Sinner is 12 and Alcaraz is 14.
“Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas and the other contenders in the middle were very unlucky because in the beginning there was Novak, Roger and Rafa, and now there is Sinner and Alcaras.
“It will be difficult for them to win a Grand Slam.”
Bartoli: Sinner and Alcaraz win 15-18 Grand Slams
“I think Sinner and Alcaraz will each win 15 or 18 Grand Slam titles,” said Marion Bartoli.
“I think Novak Djokovic will try two or three more times and finish in the 26th or 27th. After that, there will be two really complete players.
“There are many players who are not very good in certain areas.”
Henman: Can Draper challenge Sinner and Alcaraz for a Grand Slam title?
“Sinner and Alcaraz are phenomenal players and will win multiple Grand Slams. For me, it's a question of who will be in the conversation,” the former British No. 1 said.
“We're looking at whether it could be Ben Shelton, Tiafoe or Fritz from the Americans. Could it be Holger Rune? Could it be Jack Draper? I think it's going to be interesting.
“There are definitely not just two of us. Alexander Zverev is a little bit older, and I think I am of the younger generation.
“Who can win a Grand Slam title and challenge Alcaraz and Sinner?”
