AI has already shown us some weird demos, and it’s only going to get weirder, my friends. As the tech world screams and lunges headfirst into the uncanny valley, the line is blurring and everything is going to get weirder.
Take, for example, Wednesday’s Meta Connect keynote. The drumbeats of Meta AI and Llama demos rang out throughout the event, but one in particular stood out as strange.
Mark Zuckerberg invited creator Don Alan Stevenson III on stage. The Meta CEO picked up the phone and spoke to an AI-generated version of Stevenson, while the real Stevenson stood between the executive and his image on a large screen.

The demo showcased AI Studio, a platform for designing custom chatbots. The program, which launched in July to all U.S. creators, started with just text. Meanwhile, Wednesday’s event showed how creators can essentially create virtual versions of themselves.
“If I get a ton of DMs and don’t have time to respond, Creator AI answers a lot of frequently asked questions,” Stevenson said of how he uses the platform. “It saves me time. It gives me time to go out and relax.”
Meta ran a demo in the same presentation that showed chatbots voiced by Awkwafina, Dame Judi Dench, John Cena, Keegan-Michael Key, and Kristen Bell. It only gets weirder from there.
