A historic San Francisco church was destroyed by fire, causing its tower to collapse.

Video shows the dramatic moment a historic church in Iquique, Chile, was destroyed by fire.

Twelve fire departments responded to a fire at a San Francisco church on Friday, but were unable to save the mostly wooden structure, local media reported.

It was the first Catholic church built in the country and was declared a national monument in 1994, according to the World Monuments Fund.

A local official said, “There were no casualties and the cause of the fire is under investigation.”
