Indonesia’s Mount Rwotovi Rakiraki erupted again, spreading fresh fears among residents already shocked by Monday’s blast that killed at least 10 people.
The country’s volcanology agency reported that seven eruptions occurred on Thursday, with the most powerful spewing a huge plume of ash into the air as high as 8,000 meters (5 miles).
Authorities have established a 7km (4.3 miles) exclusion zone around the volcano on Flores Island.
More than 10,000 people are living in temporary shelters and authorities have warned that flash floods and cold lava flows are likely in the coming days.
