“As an athlete, when you have a bad day, especially when you are a top athlete, you are put under a bit more of a microscope.
“So (it’s) knowing that it’s okay to have bad days and not really seeing all the criticism and believing in your own talent and hard work. Not being afraid to make mistakes. I’m human.
“(I too) learned to enjoy life more. It gets blurry.
“My job is the love of my life. I love golf and I love getting out there and inspiring the next generation.
“But after everything that’s happened this year, sometimes it’s nice to take a step back and take a little more time for yourself and disconnect.”

On playing alongside Clark, who ignited college basketball before signing with the WNBA’s Indiana Fever, Koda added: “It was amazing, she was so sweet and kind.

“(The best part was) talking about life, asking her questions, and her asking me. It was like two friends hanging out together. It was great to see how relaxed she was.

“If you look at the media attention she’s gotten over the last two years, you can see how comfortable she is playing in front of bigger crowds. She’s really enjoying it. She’s obviously really talented.
“She was picking up the ball really cleanly. She missed a few shots to the right, but she played really well because she’s going to the golf course once a week because of the obligations she has.”
“I love that she loves golf. I never played basketball before her, so it’s growing interest in women’s sports. I hope that grows out of this relationship.”
