Katsukokoiso.AI is a project by professional photographer Eugenio Marongiu, an alpha tester for OpenAI’s text-to-video model Sora. Marongiu used an unreleased Sora model to create a piece titled “Surreal Elderhood” that aims to balance absurdity and shocking realism.
Previous users of Sora have noted that the system can be tricky to work with and cannot be trusted to deliver a final product. Of course, the entire technique is controversial, but that hasn’t stopped artists like Marongiu from experimenting.
Marongiu said Sora “helped accelerate the typical image-based creation process, which involves creating images and animating them later.” With Sora, we can finally fully embrace text-to-video creation… In total, it took about two days.”
