Vidal Riley and Isaac Chamberlain agree to fight in all-British cruiserweight clash in February | boxing news

Viddal Riley and Isaac Chamberlain will finally meet in a highly anticipated all-British cruiserweight showdown live on Sky Sports on February 1.

The domestic showdown has been brewing for some time with the pair holding out for what could prove to be a defining night in their respective career paths.

Riley extended her perfect professional record to 12-0 by defeating heavyweight Dan Garber on the undercard of Natasha Jonas and Ivana Habazin’s unification bout in Liverpool on Saturday night.

Vidal Riley earned an explosive knockout victory over heavyweight Dan Garber in the second round in Liverpool.

Chamberlain, meanwhile, is now 16-3 after losing by unanimous decision to Jack Massey at Crystal Palace’s Selhurst Park in June.

“Now the paths are aligned. We can talk, we can fight. It sounds like great business,” Riley said after Saturday’s win.

The pair earned a unanimous decision win over Mikael Lawal, with Riley overcoming a rib injury sustained in March earlier this year to score a dominant win.

Cruiserweight contender Vidal Riley has said a potential showdown with fellow Briton Isaac Chamberlain is ‘overdue’.

Riley’s progress has piqued the interest of YouTube star Jake Paul, as has the Londoner’s social media presence, but the 27-year-old has long insisted on his aspirations of prioritizing national and eventually world titles. Chamberlain will beckon as the final step towards this.

For Chamberlain, it’s a chance to make a statement about his frustration with Massey as Massey tries to make his way back to the biggest name in the cruiserweight division.
