Tiger Woods and PGA TOUR commissioner Jay Monahan issued a statement in the White House that they are “dedicated to golf unification.”
He also attended the PIF Governor, LIV Golf Course Yasir Al-Rumayyan and PGA player Adam Scott on Thursday.
The statement from Monahan, Woods and Scott Read said, “We just finished the construction session with Yasir Al-Rumayyan with President Trump and Trump.
“Thanks to President Trump’s leadership we have begun discussions about golf unification, we will move as soon as possible and share additional details as soon as possible.
“We share the importance of passion for games and the importance of unification. The most important thing is that we all are trying to do our best to provide the best players in the world and to provide the results for fans. “
President Trump himself mentioned that he had previously had “interesting discussions” as part of his efforts to solve the separation of professional golf between PGA Tour and Saudi Support Rib Golf.
Trump, who deeply participated in the professional golf for a year of division, appeared in the White House for the Black History Moon Event after a meeting with Woods on the stage, and Monahan and the 2013 Masters Champion Scott were in the crowd.
Trump said, “I always tried to swing like Adam. I didn’t exercise that way.”
The PGA Tour said it was closer to deal with patrons of the public investment fund, Saudi Liv Golf, after the meeting with Trump on February 6.
Woods, the 15th major winner, works with Scott and Monahan about this issue, but his mother missed the initial meeting because he recently died.
Woods said on Sunday, “I think the situation will be healed quickly,” on the CBS broadcast of Genesis Invitation Tournament of Torrey Pines.
Liv Golf was founded in 2021 and attracted the world’s best golfers. The best players of LIV and PGA Tour play each other several times a year.
Trump played golf with Woods at a club in West Palm Beach, Florida on February 9. Trump awarded Woods a medal of presidential freedom in 2019.
