The FBI says a scammer is aiming for US executives with fake Bian Rien ransom.

The FBI warns that cheats are pretending to be the Bianlian Ransomware gang using fake ransom notes sent to US executives.

The fake ransom, first reported by US cyber security firm Guidepoint Security, claims that hackers could access the organization’s network to steal sensitive data and threatened to publish stolen data unless they paid ransom.

According to the FBI, scammers are demanding $ 250,000 to $ 500,000. This memo claims to have an address for an office building in Boston, Massachusetts, and comes from the Bianlian Ransomware gang.

The Russian -connected Bian gang was the target of CISA warnings in November last year, and the group warned that it has been aiming for important infrastructure in the United States since June 2022.

It is not known how many individuals were targeted by this fraud, and the FBI did not name the known victims. Cyber security firm Arctic Wolf said that the letter was mainly sent to executives in the US medical sector.

The FBI said it did not identify the relationship between the individual and Bian Rien, who sent the ransom memo.
