Tundu Lissu is faced with charges of rebellion.

Tindu Lissu, who was shot 16 times in 2017, is a great survivor of Tanzanian politics and one of the most persecuted politicians.

But some are now asking if he has reached the end of the line.

LISSU, the leader of major opposition leader Chadema, has returned to the spot after being accused of rebellion.

Still, he is ruthless. Despite the tremendous danger, he believes that the government can apply pressure to enact reform ahead of the presidential election and parliamentary elections in October.

But can he oppose the idea of overcoming storms in harsh political environments and thinking that they are politically led?

His party was disqualified in the election and was detained in the last two weeks.

In September last year, LISSU said nothing would come to the BBC. And demanding reform “in the streets and villages” needs courage.

To achieve his goal, he thought he had to acquire Chadema’s leadership.

LISSU, a fiery politician, was critical of the way the party was operated, and President Freeman Mbowe accused the government too much reconciled to the government.

In an intense race he drove Mbowe from the post.

In three months, Chadema’s rule, LISSU was arrested this month and was detained for a speech that required the public to start rebellion and interfere with the election.

He could not enter a protest on charges of rebellion, but he was not guilty for separate charges that published false information.

Before he was arrested, he had a meeting with a rally called “Reform, No Election.”

He added that the current system was in favor of the ruling CCM, and there is no need to participate in the election without reform.

He was scheduled to appear on the Kisutu Magistrates’ Court on Dar Es Salaam on Thursday. There were close security around the court and other places in the city.

Chadema said more party officials were arrested on the way to the court, including the deputy director of John Heche and Secretary General John Mnyika.

The court ordered to actually listen to this case, but LISSU did not appear before that, and this case was held when his lawyer was. The hearing continues on Monday.

LISSU is indicted for rebellion, so you can’t get jewelry.

His international lawyer Robert Amsterdam told the BBC a “defense of democracy.”

However, CCM has won all elections after independence and is unlikely to abandon the stroke of power.

Chadema has a lift and some members do not agree with LISSU’s strategy.

The CCM party won all elections in Tanzania’s history.

The party is forbidden after rejecting the election in October and refusing to sign the Code of Conduct by the Election Commission.

The main goal of this document is to ensure that political parties and supporters act well and maintain peace and harmony during the election.

Chadema is considered to be an order to include opposition parties and fears that state oppression will continue.

In September, a senior official of the Dema Party was kidnapped and brutally murdered in the waves of government criticism.

Chadema said thousands of candidates did not participate in the November local elections. The ruling party accounted for about 98%of the seats.

The government said it was held according to the rules by dismissing the proposal that elections are free and not fair.

But in the case of LISSU, local elections justified his demands for reform prior to the president and parliamentary polls.

The campaign group Human Rights Watch also expressed similar fear and urged the government to end political oppression.

The Catholic Church unconditionally added a voice to demand LISSU and fair elections.

But the arrest of opposition politicians continued earlier this month, even though the prime ministers promised that the authorities would guarantee the security and fairness of polls earlier this month earlier this month.

The BBC presented the government.

President Samia Sake Luhu Hassan died in the office of his predecessor John Magufuli in 2021 and gave Tanzanian more political freedom.

But once again, Tanzania said, “Nicodemus MINDE, a Tanza Nia political analyst, said,” It began to see the wave of oppression and national-organization. “

At that time, LISSU survived the assassination attempt.

The government was accused of oppression against the opposition.

Before being arrested, LISSU said his party had a list of “minimal but critical reforms to ensure free elections.”

His lawyer, Amsterdam, included the formation of “National National Selectoral Commission” with the BBC.

Chadema also demands that when there is an election dispute, the burden of evidence must be with the Commission to show that the voting is free and fair.

LISSU’s strategy costs a lot of money for himself and Chadema as the camp in the party, known as the G-55, adopts a softer position.

It asked for an objection to the party. In pursuit of dialogue with the government, the election talks with the government about demands.

This is the approach taken by the second largest opposition, Act-Wazalendo.

With 16 fringe opposition parties, it signed a code of action. Only Chadema rejected.

LISSU seems to be seeing a massive protest last year in a neighbor Kenya, where the government has to withdraw its tax hike plan.

At the time, he said that the Tanzanians in the BBC said, “We were not under pressure for democratic reform.” And Kenya’s work is what we have to do. “

It is unclear whether such a strategy is effective because many Tanzanians seem to be reluctant to publicly support the government.

However, Amsterdam said that the more the government had more information, the more supporters of CHADEMA would be “promoted to move forward and to be involved in civil disobedience.”

He added that Chadema would achieve change using “all legal and political tools”.

But political analyst Thomas Kibwana criticized Lissu’s strategy, saying that at the end of June, there was not enough time to legally affect major reforms before the October election.

He said it would be better to wait for Chadema to the end of the election.

Fulgence Massawe, the director of the legal rights organization of Tanzania, told the BBC that the promotion of Chadema’s election reforms faced a significant obstacle, but the party had the right to go to the court to challenge the exclusion of the election.

Mr. MINDE says if Chadema is closed in the election, the ruling party is likely to increase the overwhelming majority in Congress.

Analysts may lose their positions until Chadema becomes a major opposition party, and of course, “Nature will retreat and other opposition parties will capture this opportunity.”

LISSU and party chose are dangerous.
