There are eight games left in the season, Catalonians 9th at the table, 9 points outside the playoff position

38 years old said:

“Obviously, it was hard for the last eight weeks. We won a game, but we really played well and were close to two games.

“We understand where we are in the club. It will be a big shift next year. There will be many players leaving the club at the end of the season. Many new players come to the team.

“Bernard and I understand each other. We think we are on the same page as the club wants to go. Through discussion we think we can really cooperate well to move the club to the next stage.”

Tomkins had most of his career with Wigan, but he received orders from Rugby Union and Hull before he cut off the boots in 2021 after two years of work with Dragons.

Last year, he joined the Ferpine Nan’s outfit as part of McNamara’s back room staff.

“Priority is to win the game and get trophies,” Tomkins said he is working hard to improve French.

“Obviously, like all the clubs in the Super League, we will develop a new player and will make a lot of effort in the area for the next few years.

“Quality recruitment is another area we’ll look at, but the main focus is to win the Grand Finals (the first of Dragons) for the next few years. This is the biggest goal for us.”

TOMKINS recognizes that the player will be a 36 -year -old playmaker, and he accepts that there is no prospect to seduce to reverse the decision he decided to retire.

“Sam made it clear that he will retire at the end of the season. He wants to go forward to work in the media.”
