US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet in Alaska next Friday. Discuss the future of the Ukrainian War.
Trump announced a social media meeting on August 15, later confirmed by a spokesman for the Kremlin, and said that if Alaska is relatively close to Russia, the location is “very logical.”
The spokesman added that Trump was invited to Russia for a potential second summit.
There was no immediate response from Ukraine.
The announcement was made in a few hours when Trump signaled the territory by signal to end the war that began in February 2022 with a full invasion of Russian neighbors.
Trump said in a White House on Friday, “I’ve been watching the territory that has been fought for three and a half years, many Russians died.
“It is very complicated. We will go back a bit. We will do some transitions. We will improve both of our territory.”
The US president did not provide more details on the proposal.
However, the BBC’s US partner, CBS News, cited a source familiar with the debate, and reported that the White House was trying to accept the European leaders to accept consensus such as occupying the entire Donbas region in eastern Ukraine and maintaining a creamia.
The CBS report will give up the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions partially as part of the proposed contract, CBS reported.
The Wall Street Journal reported that President Putin proposed a similar contract with Trump’s envoy Steve Weekrov at a recent meeting in Moscow.
It is not clear whether the Ukrainian President VolodyMyr Zelensky and Putin agree with the Ukraine and European allies in the distance of the conditions of peace.
Zelensky rejected the prerequisites of territorial concessions..
A chief White House official was still fluid on CBS and the next Friday meeting plan was still fluid and was still likely to be involved in some capacity Zelensky.
Moscow did not achieve decisive innovations in full -scale invasion, but accounted for about 20%of Ukrainian territory. Meanwhile, Ukrainian attacks did not withdraw Russian troops.
In Istanbul, three direct conversations between Ukraine and Russia have not ended the war, and Moscow’s military and political prerequisites for peace are virtually Ukrainian’s capabilities by KYIV and its allies.
Russian demands include Ukrainian neutral countries, dramatically reducing military, giving up NATO aspirations, and release of Western sanctions imposed on Russia.
Moscow also wants Russia to withdraw the army and blame soldiers in four areas where Russia is partially occupied in the southeastern Ukraine.
Trump, however, claimed that the United States had a shooting case on the third peace agreement among the countries on Friday.
“European leaders want to see peace. President Putin wants to see peace, and Zelen Ski wants to see peace,” he told reporters.
Trump said, “President Zelen Ski must get everything he needs, because he is working hard to finish it because he must be prepared to sign something.
Last month, Trump admitted that all four previous visit to the BBC had disappointed him after Putin first led to optimism.
In recent weeks, he has strengthened his position on the Kremlin and imposed a Friday deadline for Russia to agree with Ukrainian ceasefire or face more sanctions.
However, as the deadline approached, the economic threats were rapidly darkened by the plan to meet in person to discuss potential peace contracts.
There was no additional sanctions on the White House on Friday.
Trump and Putin spoke in February in the first direct exchange between the two leaders of the two countries after the full invasion of Russia.
