
French French champion Chris Froome had a “successful” surgery after a serious training in France, resulting in fractured spine, collapsed lungs and five ribs.
The 40 -year -old Froome crashed while training on Wednesday and aired as a hospital in Toulon, about 100 miles from a house in Monaco.
The statement of his Israeli Premier Team Team said: “We can see that Chris has been successfully undergoing surgery due to recent injuries. The procedure has proceeded as planned and Chris is currently recovering in the hospital under the treatment of the medical team.
“Thank you for and thank you for the excellent medical support you received. Thank you for your fans, friends and cycling communities for this period for your thanks and kind messages.”
Froome’s injuries would end his season, so one of the most successful Grand Tour careers in the history of cycling could end, and in the last month of the five -year contract, Froome signed the last month of the five -year contract when he joined Israel Premier Tech before the 2021 campaign.
Froome won the Tour de France in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017, and won the Vuelta A Espana in 2018 Giro D ‘ITALIA and 2011 and 2017.
With Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault and Miguel Indurain, only four men have more tour titles. Only Merckx, Anquetil and Hinault have seven Grand Tour titles of Froome, which is connected to Indurain, Alberto Contador and Fausto Coppi.
But Froome did not recover the form he had enjoyed before a serious conflict in the 2019 Criterium Du DauPine, which resulted in intensive treatment with fractured femur, elbows, ribs and pelvis.
His 46 professional career championship was the end in 2018 GIRO, and his best result since 2019 was TOM PIDCOCK’s win, ranking third in the 12th stage of 2022 Tour de France’s ALPE D ‘Huez.
