Sinclair Broadcast Group and Nexstar Media Group announced that they will re -show the show to ABC affiliates after being banned for a week on Friday.
The two companies that carry dozens of ABC stations across the United States have started a program on KIMMEL’s opinion on Charlie Kirk’s death.
Sinclair decided to restore the late -night talk show after “thoughtful feedback of viewers, advertisers and community leaders.”
Kimmel has also been suspended from all ABC for a while and returned to the network on Tuesday.
“In the monologue that night,” “It was never my intention to reveal the murder of a young man.”
Sinclair and Nexstar viewers in cities such as Washington, DC, Nashville, New Oleans and Seattle can be seen again by listening to power outages.
Sinclair said in a press release that discussions with ABC and parent company Disney are “in progress and constructive.” Media companies have suggested that they have proposed measures to promote “responsibility” in Disney.
None of these measures have been adopted yet.
Nexstar also quoted a positive discussion with ABC and said in a press release that “thank you for the constructive approach to solve our concerns.” The company said, “We are trying to protect our first amendment.”
What is it?
Kimmel has landed in hot water since the monologue of the conservative Firebrand Kirk’s death on September 15.
He said, Donald Trump and his ally President said, “We are trying to specialize this child other than his own.”
He also likened Trump’s response to the influenza’s murder, “How a four -year -old mourns goldfish.”
Trump’s chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) threatened to cancel ABC’s broadcast license in an interview with a conservative podcast.
After Carr’s opinion, Sinclair and Nexstar said they would stop broadcasting the show on dozens of ABC affiliates.
Then ABC pulled the show entirely from the air.
This triggered a national debate on free speeches, including the online trends of those who cancel the Disney+ subscription.
Kimmel’s comeback
Disney announced on Monday that Kimmel will return to the air, but Sinclair and Nexa will not be broadcast.
On Tuesday, his return show led to a record rating, and 62.6 million people are watching live even if one -quarter of the ABC station is not broadcast.
Kimmel regretted his initial joke of KIRK, but Trump and Carr regretted what he called it “MOB” censorship tactics.
Kimmel said, “Our leader congratulates people who lose their livelihoods because they can’t joke.
Trump was publicly disappointed by Kimmel’s reinstatement.
“I can’t believe that ABC’s fake news has returned his job to Jimmy Kimmel,” he wrote in a social media post.
