Zambia opens first Hyatt Regency: Travel Weekly

Hyatt will introduce the Hyatt Regency brand to Zambia with the reopening of the Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka in 2026. The existing hotel will undergo extensive renovation.

When it reopens as Hyatt Regency Lusaka The Pamodzi, the hotel will offer 170 newly designed rooms and suites, all with contemporary décor. Travelers can expect upgraded in-room amenities and improved service standards in line with Hyatt’s international five-star service.

The property’s facilities include flexible meeting and event space suitable for meetings and corporate gatherings targeting the meeting, incentive, conference and exhibition markets. The hotel’s central location is close to major tourist attractions including Lusaka’s business district and Lusaka National Museum. Wildlife experiences such as Lusaka National Park and the Elephant Orphanage Project are a short drive away.

For loyalty members, this launch adds Zambia to the World of Hyatt program, allowing guests to earn and redeem points during their stays.

The renovation is part of a partnership between Hyatt, ASB Hotel Properties, Albwardy Investments and Pamodzi Hotels PLC. The goal is to modernize the hotel and meet the expectations of both business and leisure travelers in a growing market.
