Women’s Super League apologizes to Tottenham for GK Barry’s comments during the League Cup draw | soccer news

The Women’s Super League has apologized to Tottenham Hotspur for comments made during Tuesday night’s League Cup draw.

The quarter-final and semi-final draws took place on the WSL’s official TikTok page and were hosted by GK Barry and her partner Portsmouth midfielder Ella Rutherford.

The draw included some crude comments, including GK Barry’s comment about Tottenham. She pulled out her jersey number and shouted “What do you think about Tottenham?”, a slogan used by rival clubs.

The WSL has contacted Tottenham to discuss its concerns and has issued a formal apology.

GK Barry also took a ball out of the bag, accidentally put it back in, then took it out again and used it as part of the draw.

A judge from the WSL attended the draw and was satisfied that the process was conducted fairly and accurately.

Sky Sports News What we learned through the lottery will be introduced in the future.

Additionally, no other clubs are known to have approached the WSL with concerns about a draw in the current circumstances.
