Arsenal moved up to second in the WSL table after beating Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park.
The two sides traded three goals in a hectic four minutes, with Katie McCabe, Honoka Hayashi and Alessia Russo trading the ball before Olivia Smith’s late volley sealed the three points for Renee Slegers’ side.
Everton came into the game looking to end their winless run at home in the league, but looked for another turnaround with a stunning win over Chelsea last weekend.

Katie McCabe scored a stunning goal for the Gunners to open the scoring at Goodison Park.
But the Gunners dominated the early stages and deservedly took the lead in style. Mariona Caldentey saw her early effort cleared off the line by Hikaru Kitagawa, but this allowed McCabe to start a goal-filled spell by finding the bottom corner with a half-volley.

Honoka Hayashi scored the equalizer for Everton, giving them a 1-1 win over Arsenal.
Hayashi went one step further with Everton’s first effort of the game when she curled an effort from distance beyond Anneke Borbe, but Russo restored the lead moments later in haphazard fashion.
Kim Little’s errant volley hit the striker’s chest and Courtney Brosnan looked to have done enough to send it wide of the goal, but Caitlin Foord thundered it home. Replays showed the ball had already crossed the line.

Everton continued to pose little threat after Arsenal put the game away, but not before former Liverpool star Smith volleyed past Brosnan to seal the game for the visitors.
There were moments to savor as England captain Leah Williamson received a standing ovation from both fans as she made her first appearance since the Euro 2025 final after recovering from an ACL injury.

Olivia Smith scored Arsenal’s third against Everton at Goodison Park but the Gunners are three points clear.
Ahead of Sunday’s WSL match, this means the Gunners temporarily move to second in the WSL table, while Everton remain in ninth, extending their winless run to five games.
