Dom Taylor has been banned from playing darts for six months by the Darts Regulatory Authority (DRA) after testing positive for cocaine and cannabis at the World Darts Championship.
Taylor had already been banned from all PDC events on December 27 and forfeited £25,000 in prize money from the World Championships.
A hearing before the disciplinary committee confirmed the drug offenses occurred before the tournament, but Taylor’s second offense resulted in a mandatory six-month ban under DRA rules.
“Having regard to all available evidence, the committee is therefore satisfied that Mr Taylor’s consumption of cocaine and cannabis occurred during the competition and did not occur after the start of the World Championships on 11 December 2025,” the DRA said in a statement.
“Following the findings of this investigation, the Commission has decided that as this is Mr Taylor’s second offense, he should be banned from competition for six months under these Rules, 10.9(a) and 10.9(b) of the UKAD Anti-Doping Rules 2021.”
Taylor will also lose his tour card for the violation.
