Lunch at Omar’s Beach Hut in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands followed by a boat ride has many benefits. Obviously, you arrive in style. Parking is also easy, but of course you have to be mindful of the tide. There is something special about walking through shallow water to the bar. Next is the puppy parade.
A friendly group of potcakes make their home along the shore near Omar’s. They lounge in the shade all day.
But boaters spring into action once they return to their vessels. Potcakes form a sort of dog parade, leading customers back to the boats.
As a lover of dogs and boats, I was quite envious of the scene captured above while having lunch at Omar’s in November 2025. Personally, I’d take a potcake escort out to sea any day, avoiding the potholes on the way to and from Omar’s.
