“Judea and Samaria is the Jewish homeland of the people of Israel,” said Zvi Sukkot, a lawmaker from Smotrich’s far-right Religious Zionist party. “We expect there to be full Israeli sovereignty here, but in the meantime, at least we can oversee it so there is no harm to the environment and no harm to the heritage of the Israeli people, even if it is in a Palestinian-run area.”
