Ship tracking data confirmed that the USS Mahan, one of the strike group’s destroyers, had passed through the strait. The Gerald R Ford briefly broadcast its position off the Atlantic coast of Morocco on Wednesday and is believed to be traveling to the Middle East, where it was tracked by another US aircraft carrier, the USS Abraham Lincoln, earlier this week.
