Yosemite Falls turns molten orange.

As the setting sun hits Horsetail Falls, water from the rocks creates the optical illusion of molten lava pouring down El Capitan’s granite surface.

According to the National Park Service, the effects of the fire are only visible on clear evenings when the falls are flowing, from mid to late February.

According to the NPS, Horsetail Falls in California’s Yosemite National Park is typically operated only in the winter, and even the slightest fog or clouds can greatly diminish its sights.
