Bill Clinton testified before the House Oversight Committee on Friday about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, a day after his wife, Hillary Clinton, was also removed from the committee. In his testimony, the former US president denied knowledge of Epstein’s crimes.
He was asked about a photo in the Epstein file that shows him in a hot tub with an unidentified person who appears to be a woman. Clinton told lawmakers she did not know who he was, a source told the BBC.
Republican lawmakers said transcripts of both depositions would be made available to the public. Democrats on the committee said the testimony set a new precedent and that President Donald Trump should also testify.
