But it can make or break an outfit and it’s one of the fashion shoe edits I’m looking forward to because I love heels and more glamorous styles than everyday shoes. The 2026 Oscars saw celebrities like Renate Reinsve and Li Jun Li wearing some of the most classic yet on-trend shoes at the Oscars. The shoes of many Oscar nominees, actresses, and A-listers go unnoticed under their Oscars gowns, but these are the shoes of celebrities who were on the show and we were truly delighted. One thing to note about Oscar shoes is that they are usually chosen to complement the dress rather than compete with it. For this reason, platform heels are very popular. They provide an important height boost when frequently renting and wrapping a robe for certain lifts, and their thick soles tend to be much more comfortable than dainty strappy sandals during long nights on your feet. Another style that appears every year is matching satin stilettos, which blend in rather than take attention away from the gown. This is a classic approach that works just as well on the red carpet as it does on it.
