Scottie Scheffler withdrew from the Houston Open on Tuesday with his wife, Meredith, due to the birth of their second child.
The world No. 1 has finished runner-up at the Houston Open three times, including the last two years before heading to the Masters.
He will be replaced at Memorial Park by Matt Kuchar.
Scheffler’s wife gave birth to a son named Bennett on May 8, 2024, a week before the PGA Championship.
Schaeffler, who won the PGA Championship and The Open last year, started 2026 with a win at the American Express. He entered the top 10 for 18 consecutive years, starting with last year’s Houston Open, and ended in a tie for 12th place at the Genesis Invitational.
His last tournament was The Players Championship where he tied for 22nd.
Scheffler is preparing for his third Green Jacket competition at the Masters at Augusta National two weeks from now, when Rory McIlroy returns as the defending champion.
McIlroy famously ended his long wait for Masters glory last year when he completed the career Grand Slam by defeating Justin Rose in a dramatic playoff.
Watch the Masters live on Sky Sports from April 9-12. The next PGA Tour event is the Texas Children’s Houston Open, which will be broadcast live on Sports Golf starting Thursday at 12:30 p.m. Stream NOW.
