4th of July New York Events

For another Fourth of July New York event that is just as iconic as the fireworks, take part in Coney Island’s Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest. Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest, taking place at noon on July 4, 2022, pits the world’s best eaters against each other in one of the most well-known competitions of all time.

Officially sanctioned by the International Federation of Competitive Eating, the event is often witnessed by thousands of people. The current record for the competition is Joey Chestnut, who made 76 hot dogs in 10 minutes. Are you coming to see the record broken?

This free event is open to the public and takes place in Maimonides Park, at the corner of Surf and Stillwell Avenues in Coney Island, Brooklyn.
