A 7-3 win over Gary Anderson in the semi-finals set up a final meeting with Soutar for Searle to take the title.
“We had a really solid performance today,” Searle told the PDC. “On average, my best performance was against Raymond, and emotionally it felt like my worst performance, which was a bit strange.
“February and March are usually my winning months. If I can break new ground with one or two more wins this year, I will.
“We’ve had a bit more interest so far this year,” said Searle, who has had a great run leading up to the 2025/26 World Championship semi-finals.
“It was great, we were able to raise awareness for the Cure ADOA Foundation, but it wasn’t an exercise in motivation.
“I want to win the European Tour. That will be my next goal. It will be nice to prove on the big stage that I can win.”
Jonny Clayton, Stephen Bunting and Michael van Gerwen were among the high-profile players in action for Leicester, but all three failed to progress beyond the fourth round.

Meanwhile, James Wade made history by becoming the first player to reach 1,000 wins by defeating Lucas Benig 6-1 in the first round of the Players Championship.
Despite the monumental performance, Wade’s night was ended by Spain’s Cristo Reyes, who secured a shock 6-2 win over the Englishman.

“Well it wasn’t the ending I wanted today, but on a more positive note, it happened,” Wade wrote on X.
“After winning my first match today, I became the first and only player to reach 1000 wins in a Players Championship event.
“It’s a really great achievement and I’m really proud of it!”
