Below I’ve highlighted two places I visited that stood out and left me with nothing but fond memories.
Casilla Papagayo
This was our third stop after Arenal and it’s really a little hidden gem! Kasiiya Papagayo, which opened last December, is located in one of the planet’s “blue zones” and embodies everything I love about Costa Rica. An ecological and luxurious sanctuary set on 123 acres of wild land, this little hidden paradise is truly exceptional!
The property has just five tented suites, each strategically placed to offer guests solitude, luxury and immersion in the surrounding natural beauty. The sound of monkeys waking us up at 5am made us feel far away from the angry crowd. (The strangest kind of alarm clock!)
Luckily for the three days we stayed there Jess and I and another couple were the only people in the property with a full team of staff catering to our every need and communication via walkie-talkie. Jess and I couldn’t help but think it was a bit strange, but we adapted quickly.
Our fitted tent was amazing, with access to a private beach and a huge open deck with a copper bathtub and shower outside.
