The World Health Organization (WHO) has urged stakeholders to act on the evidence provided by the latest estimates of foodborne illness.
Updated WHO figures on the burden of foodborne diseases, originally scheduled for publication in 2025, will be published in early June in a report containing risk-specific estimates and providing global, regional and national data on foodborne diseases, deaths and public health burden, expressed in disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) from 2000 to 2021.
