I’m in that in-between season phase where my wardrobe needs editing but doesn’t need an overhaul. As I adapt to the lighter palette that spring demands, I’m considering what I already have and a few pieces that work now. These six items have either recently arrived or are sitting in various shopping carts waiting for me to hit buy.
The ivory sweater from J.Crew arrived last week. I like the loose silhouette and wide roll neck with the three-dimensional effect of cable knit. Plus, it’s made of cotton, which is perfect for California’s mild climate. You can layer it over a thin cashmere t-shirt until you’re ready to wear it on its own. I think it will be useful even in the summer. It runs big.
To make it feel more like spring, I layered &Daughter’s bright pink cashmere foulard over the gray, black, camel, and brown knits that are currently in rotation. It adds warmth and color without feeling heavy. Above I am wearing a classic triangle sized argyle scarf and a pink XL scarf that I like to wrap twice.
I’m thinking of new readers with pale honeydew frames. It feels less harsh than the dark frames I’ve been wearing for years and the look will be new to me. I always have my readers wear blue light filtering lenses. This is a product from Warby Parker.
I love a good pile of rings and over the years I have collected several bands in white gold, yellow gold, pavé stones, baguette stones… I love mixing them up. The illuminated eternity band on this bezel will add another dimension and depth to my stack.
Bottega Veneta Andiamo is one of my favorite bags. The size and features are perfect for me. I have been eyeing this pale sage color in the spring. It’s a neutral color that goes well with anything, making it more unique and unpredictable than ivory or white.
The last addition is the Make Beauty Skin Mimetic Concealer. I’ve never used anything from Makeup before, but they sent me a concealer and I fell in love. The finish is pretty, so it covers dark circles and sinks into the skin. The applicator is precise and the consistency feels lightweight. Very good.
